Semiconductor Opportunities in Oregon: TheKey Takeaways
OMEP and Prosper Portland were proud to co-host the recent Semiconductor Supply Chain Opportunities Conference on October 17. This event helped smaller and medium-sized companies connect with each other and the semiconductor industry.
About 70 people from 50 businesses attended, including tier 1 and 2 suppliers and organizations that help with economic development. Attendees also heard from Jesse Stoneman, a representative from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) CHIPS office in Washington, D.C.
The Opportunity
Oregon has a potentially huge opportunity to grow in the semiconductor industry, which may take more creative thinking for smaller manufacturers to access — it’s part of a bigger conversation that OMEP is following with interest. OMEP is watching as things develop and will share more information as it becomes available.

That’s what happened with QPD (formerly Eagle Precision Sheet Metal).
